Collection: Ida Maria Grassi
Our brand has a rich history that began with the vision, courage, and determination of a female entrepreneur. This remarkable woman dreamed of creating wind instruments of exceptional quality, infused with the distinctive Italian style.
Like many successful companies, our humble beginnings trace back to a small garage on via Dezza in Milan, just after the war. It was there that Ida Maria Grassi started crafting flutes and piccolos that quickly garnered attention in the American market, leading her to establish a factory in Cinisello Balsamo.
However, Ida Maria Grassi's true ambition was to manufacture saxophones. Fate intervened in the late 1950s when numerous skilled workers, facing economic challenges at a saxophone factory, sought employment with her. Recognizing this opportunity and driven by her respect for these expert craftsmen, Ida Maria Grassi founded her second factory in Quarna, located in the Piedmont region. The establishment of this factory brought economic stability to the entire surrounding area.
There were many challenges to overcome, including the prevailing gender biases that undervalued women in the workforce. Nonetheless, through hard work and dedication, Ida Maria Grassi's brand quickly gained international renown. In an interview, she proudly declared, "I was able to craft quality wind instruments in Italy and abroad, bearing an Italian name, and I think I can be proud of it."
Year after year, our work has retained its position of excellence through relentless innovation and continuous improvement. We constantly explore new materials and techniques, ensuring that every instrument bearing the name "Ida Maria Grassi" undergoes rigorous testing and reflects the expertise of our master craftsmen and employees.
"Our commitment to innovation and improvement is ingrained in everything we produce," said Ida Maria Grassi.
Today, our brand stands as a legacy of passion, charisma, and technological innovation, making each "Ida Maria Grassi" instrument truly special and unique.
