Nowadays the Amp-less approach is quickly becoming a trend for modern musicians, like guitarists who appreciate a variety of pedals and amps, but don’t have the luxury of a roadie crew to lug all of them around.

Amp Academy inherits NUX TSAC-2K (White-box Amp Modeling) algorithm which delivers the sound and feel of world-class tube amplifiers in a super-portable stomp-box enclosure. And, its huge headroom and dynamic range is a pedal friendly platform.

Features:
  • Pro-Level Amp Modeling with Bias Tweaking
  • 7 Independent moveable signal blocks with Send/Return effect loop
  • Intuitive operation and editor software
  • 1024 samples IR resolution and 3rd party IR loader slot with auto format editor
  • Versatile application scenes with independent 1/4" & XLR IR outs
  • Ultra-low system latency (1.2ms) and premium powerful NXP RT DSP(1GHz)
  • Comes with Insert Y-cable for send/return effect loop
  • USB recording interface, firmware update, AmpAcademy™ editor software
  • Ultra-wide dynamic range: 110dB Specifications

GO DIRECT FOR VARIOUS APPLICATIONS
On Stage:
Add Amp Academy to any pedal chain and connect to a mixer or PA system for excellent tone, control, and flexibility during live performance. Monitor through the in-house monitoring system or in-ear monitors. For a dedicated personal on-stage monitor, connect your pedalboard to a powered FRFR speaker.

NOTE: Because the purpose of Amp Academy is to deliver amp and cab tones, it is not recommended to enable Amp Academy “in-front” of a guitar amp. If you use the same pedalboard both with an amp and direct-out situations, simply toggle IR OUT switch to DOWN position to bypass the IR signal when using your board with a guitar amp. (We suggest connecting to a 1/4” OUT to amp’s power amp in / return.) Engage IR signal with DI out to powered FRFR speaker, or PA system.

NOTE: If you want to engage/disengage IR signal with DI OUT, please HOLD A/B foot switch and power the pedal. IR ON: A/B indicators will flash 3 times. IR OFF: A/B indicators will NOT flash.

In Studio:
Connect Amp Academy directly to a recording interface for excellent guitar tone, instantly, without the need to set up an amp or microphones. (Toggle IR OUT switches to UP position if you want to use the IR signal for 1/4” out. If you want to engage/disengage IR signal with DI OUT, please HOLD A/B foot switch and power the pedal. IR ON: A/B indicators will flash 3 times. IR OFF: A/B indicators flash will NOT flash.)

At Home (Silent Practice):
Connect headphones or monitors directly to Amp Academy’s 1/8” PHONE OUT to experience immersive classic amp tones in a natural sounding room without an amp.

AMP MODELS
Amp Academy features 6 legendary amp models like Vintage (Fender Twin Reverb), Classic (Fender Vibro King), Modern (Mesa Boogie Mark I), Brown (Friedman HBE), Red (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier) and Iridium (Bogner Uberschall). Why Buy From GIG Guitars

Family-owned in Glen Innes, NSW, GIG Guitars offers carefully selected instruments you can trust. Fast shipping, easy returns, and friendly advice make buying simple and stress-free.

About Us

Our Story – GIG Guitars

Established May 2019

GIG Guitars opened its doors in May 2019 with a simple mission: to help musicians find the right instrument—whether they’re just starting out or decades into their musical journey. Located in the Glen Innes Highlands, NSW, we began as a passion project and quickly became a trusted name for quality guitars and gear across Australia.

From day one, we’ve offered a diverse range of new, used and vintage guitars, along with string instruments like banjos, mandolins, and ukuleles. We also stock amps, tuners, pedals, PA systems, mics, recording bundles, and more—everything a modern musician needs.

Since 2019 – Guitars and Gear for Everyone

  • Our collection has grown to include:
  • Acoustic, electric, bass, classical, hollow-body, and jazz guitars
  • Left-handed models and beginner packs
  • Accessories including stands, straps, strings, tuners, and pedals
  • Studio gear like microphones, headphones, and mixers
  • Reconditioned used and vintage gear from trusted sources

We represent respected brands like Aria, Danelectro, Dunlop, Grover, Remo, Redding, Snark, Xtreme, Takamine, Tanglewood, Hagstrom, Sigma, and more.

A Personal Buying Experience

We believe choosing an instrument should be hands-on and emotional. That’s why our in-store experience is built around the senses:

  • See – Appreciate its shape, colour, and character
  • Touch – Feel it in your hands, test its weight and comfort
  • Hear – Play freely and explore its sound in a relaxed space

Our team encourages you to look beyond labels and focus on what truly suits your playing style and musical goals.

A Community Built Through Music

Since 2019, GIG Guitars has become more than a shop—it’s a space for connection. Local musicians, students, and pros regularly drop in for a chat, jam, or open mic. We host and support community events and are proud to provide instruments for local causes.

“We have some very talented local artists that meet at our store for open sessions. We love seeing them learn from each other.” – Rico

Meet the Founder – Rico

The heart behind GIG Guitars is Enrico—known to all as Rico. His musical journey began at 8 years old when he picked up his uncle’s acoustic guitar. After moving to Australia in 1984, he developed a deep love for classical, rock and blues, inspired by artists like INXS, Split Enz, and Cold Chisel.

By 2019, Rico had a personal collection of 50+ guitars and, with a little encouragement from his wife, began selling a few. Demand grew—and GIG Guitars was born.

“The only guitar I regret selling was a 1979 Fender Strat Hardtail. It turned heads every time we played it in-store.” – Rico

Today, Rico still plays, collects, and supports artists who visit Glen Innes, including touring bands like Murphy’s Pigs. His passion remains the same: help people fall in love with music—one instrument at a time.
