"Experience Vintage Vibe and Modern Brilliance with the Hagstrom H-II Retroscape Guitar in White Gloss!"

    Introducing the Rebirth of H-Story

In 1965, the world was introduced to the H-II and H-III guitars, marking their 50th anniversary in 2015. These legendary guitars quickly gained fame for their unconventional switches and effortless playability, capturing the hearts of musicians far and wide. Loved by punk and grunge bands seeking a rebellious sound, artists like Aaron North (The Icarus Line, Nine Inch Nails) embraced the H-II and H-III as their weapons of choice. The demand for these classics to be reborn has resonated with countless fans, and we at Hagstrom are thrilled to respond with meticulously recreated and upgraded versions of these iconic instruments.

Preserving the essence of the originals, we've crafted the new H-II and H-III with utmost care. A Canadian Maple neck, ergonomically shaped for comfort, is securely bolted to a carefully chosen American Alder body, ensuring that the original H-II and H-III's distinct attack and "bite" remain intact. We've subtly refined the classic 6-in-line Hagstrom headstock design from the first production of H-IIs and H-IIIs, and the beloved "Vintage Tremar" has undergone re-engineering to enhance its functionality without compromising its authentic appearance.

With unwavering dedication, Hagstrom has painstakingly recreated the original pickups, resulting in the introduction of the ceramic "C-Spin" pickups. These pickups faithfully capture the sonic glory of their predecessors, complementing the guitars' tone-shaping capabilities. Moreover, we've incorporated our new RC-Circuit into the volume control, enabling volume reduction without sacrificing the shimmering high frequencies that define these guitars' distinctive sound.

The H-II features a bolt-on construction, delivering a slightly brighter and more vibrant tone, coupled with ample attack and snap. Its strong resonance and sustain make it a reliable companion on any musical journey, while its design prioritizes easy serviceability, ensuring a long-lasting partnership between musician and instrument.

The re-engineered Vintage Tremar vibrato unit, in combination with the trusted long travel Tune-O-Matic roller bridge and the Graphtech Black TUSQ XL nut, preserves its original aesthetic while significantly enhancing functionality. Offering smooth vibrato action and impeccable tuning stability, this revamped tremolo system invites exploration of new sonic territories.

Every Hagstrom electric guitar and bass includes our patented H-Expander truss rod, a revolutionary feature found in all our instruments. This truss rod, extending the entire length of the neck and providing tension at both ends, enables exceptionally low action and a slim neck profile—characteristics that have earned Hagstrom its reputation for crafting the fastest-playing guitars in the world. Not only does the H-Expander truss rod ensure unparalleled neck stability, but it also contributes to the unique tonal qualities that define the unmistakable Hagstrom sound. Expect longer sustain and a rounded attack, among other sonic characteristics, courtesy of the H-Expander.

We've employed Resinator wood, a wood composite material, in the construction of the fingerboard. This innovative material boasts superior density uniformity and stability compared to standard wood products, eliminating any potential dead spots or "wolf tones." Resinator wood possesses the articulate sound of high-quality ebony, free from the issues often associated with the latter. It provides a stable and clear tone while accentuating higher overtones and harmonics, lending exquisite detail to every note played. Like our H-Expander truss rod, Resinator wood plays a pivotal role in shaping the distinct "Hagstrom tone."

In the grand tale of H-Story, we are thrilled to rebirth the iconic H-II and H-III guitars. With their classic features meticulously recreated and enhanced for the modern musician, these instruments honor their storied past while forging a new path for the future of rock and individual expression. Join us as we embark on this sonic adventure, where tradition and innovation harmonize to create the legends of tomorrow.
