The Mora models using a solid Mahogany top with Mahogany back and sides provides a more brilliant and brighter tone with a generous amount of mids. However, the model produces a rather full tone without being considered "trebly" or "thin".

As most acoustic guitars on the market today use a combination of different tone woods, this single species of wood provides a truly unique tone, where the instrument seems to be specially voiced for soloing and finger picking styles, as single notes and phrasing seem to jump out from the instrument. Cosmetically speaking, the brownish hues from the darker tone wood will attract many players looking for a new stage companion.

Hagstrom Acoustics
Dalarna is a historical province located in central Sweden, home to the town of Älvdalen where Albin Hagström established an accordion factory in 1925, and where Hagstrom guitar production began in the 1950’s. A region steeped in folklore and with a rich tradition of art and craftsmanship, it is a source of inspiration for Hagstrom’s acoustic guitars. In homage to the birthplace of Hagstrom guitars, we have adopted local names from around the region for our acoustic series: Siljan, Mora, Efldalia, and, of course, Dalarna.

Each model has been carefully developed to produce a unique tone with the help of hand-selected and aged timbers, and traditional body designs such as Dreadnought, Grand Auditorium, and Concert.  A feature common to all Hagstrom acoustic guitars is the incorporation of our unique Resinator™ material into both fingerboards and bridges. The consistency, density, and stability of Resinator™ wood is ideally suited to the acoustic guitar, and contributes to the rich sonic fingerprint of Hagstrom acoustics.

Beautifully designed cosmetic features such as headstocks, rosettes, tuners and other details, together with the finest of materials and Hagstrom’s design innovation creates a range of acoustic guitars that are a fitting tribute to the legacy started nearly a century ago in Dalarna by Albin Hagström.

MORA II STANDARD FEATURES:
Mora series guitars use same tonewood species throughout the instrument. A solid Mahogany top is joined to mahogany back and sides for a beautifully warm looking instrument. An all-Mahogany guitar typically will sound more focused because the fundamental frequencies of each note are emphasized. Such a sound signature is often sought by finger-style soloists or guitarists whose specialty is single note picking.

Resinator Wood
Resinator wood is a wood composite material that is both more uniform in density and more stable than any standard wood product. These characteristics eliminate dead spots or "wolf tones" sometimes associated with conventional wood fingerboards.
Resinator wood has an articulate sound similar to high quality ebony, but without any of the problems associated with ebony. It provides a stable and clear tone, and also adds higher overtones and harmonics which uniquely detail each note. Like our H-Expander truss rod, Resinator wood is a major contributor to the distinctive "Hagstrom tone".

Hagstrom Machine Heads
Hagstrom models use 18:1 or 15:1 gear ratio machine heads based on our own designs to insure accurate tuning. Viking and HB series basses feature machine heads with a 17:1 gear ratio.

Fishman ISYS+ 301
All Hagstrom acoustic-electric models are equipped with Fishman’s professional quality ISYS 301 Plus preamp and Sonicore transducer system. Advanced features such as a built-in autochromatic tuner and Phase adjustment control provide the perfect support for Hagstrom’s unique acoustic voice.
