Your new Hidersine instrument will have already been inspected and setup ‘ready to play’ in our service workshops. This means that you can buy with confidence, take your new instrument along to your lesson and be ready to go from the off.

Don't forget to choose the correct size of instrument. 

The Hidersine Studenti violin is available in Full size, 3/4 size and 1/2 size. 

The 4/4 model is a Full Size, will be suitable for an adult beginner, or an older child.

The 3/4 (Three Quarter) Size, will be suitable for an older child around 11 or 12 years. 

The 1/2 (Half) Size, will be suitable for a child around 8 years, but we strongly recommend you speak to your local music store or your music teacher to ensure you are measured for the correct size.

Tuning has never been easier: 
Wittner’s Finetune pegs are a genuine revelation for player of all standards, with even seasoned professionals choosing to fit them to the very finest instruments. But these discreet, internally geared pegs make life so much simpler for students too!

Traditionally, most bowed instruments are tuned using wooden pegs, which are ‘wedged’ into the wooden holes of the pegbox at the top of the instrument, with simple friction keeping them in place. When the strings needed to be tuned therefore, for the pegs to turn, they would have to be loosened, turned and then pushed back in. This process can take a little force and isn’t the easiest or most accurate for inexperienced hands. Plus, over time the pegs can slip – therefore losing their pitch – or stick – making them hard to turn and tune. 
Any teacher or student will tell you the amount of time wasted at the beginning or during lessons getting their student instrument up to pitch, and having it stay there!

The clever, German-engineering employed in Wittner’s Finetune pegs allows the student or professional to turn the internally geared peg in a controlled way, without the main shaft of the peg ever losing contact with the pegbox. This means you can make tiny, incremental increases or decreases in pitch - just like tuning a guitar. Getting your instrument in tune, and keeping it there has literally never been easier…. So now your precious time can be spent on learning and playing – not tuning.. and re-tuning.

Key Features: 

Your Studenti violin or viola is supplied as an outfit, which is to say it is complete with what you need to get started. Besides the instrument itself, also included is a shaped case with internal accessory compartments and an outer pocket. The attractive Hidersine case has a light-reflective strip on the outer cover, a zipped opening and a comfy handle too.

Most importantly, your Studenti outfit includes a Bulletwood bow, without which no sound is possible. Just tighten the hair, apply a little of the included Hidersine rosin, and the bow is ready to play… as you will be too.

Tone that will continually improve.

Hidersine Studenti instruments feature a solid spruce top – or sound-table. This is important because your instrument’s primary voice is formed by this sound-table, and therefore the top can resonate as a single, coherent structure and sound great as a result. Plus, as the wood ages and the solid tonewood top gradually relaxes at a cellular level into its natural rest state, it will resonate even naturally, and the sound will improve further. Winner!

Ebony - Feels great, plays great:

Studenti violins, violas and cellos all benefit from a genuine Ebony fingerboard. This prized hardwood has traditionally been used for fingerboards for hundreds of years due to its truly long-lasting properties. Unlike stained or ‘ebonized’ softwoods often used on student instruments, genuine Ebony will not mark, pit or wear out under lengthy playing periods. Rather it will remain structurally sound for a very long time, and will also feel smooth on the fingers, helping make the playing experience more pleasant all round.

An Exclusive Appearance.

Hidersine Studenti instruments not only have a solid top, but they also have solid Maple ribs and backs too. These solid tonewood sections further enhance the instrument’s natural tone. The top produces the instrument’s primary voice, and the back and sides add the character.

The solid Maple core is enhanced further by it's finish. This is a special finishing technique which gives the appearance of visually top-grade maple, so your Studenti instrument has the appearance of a much more exclusive instrument.

Our Story – GIG Guitars 

Established May 2019

GIG Guitars opened its doors in May 2019 with a simple mission: to help musicians find the right instrument—whether they’re just starting out or decades into their musical journey. Located in the Glen Innes Highlands, NSW, we began as a passion project and quickly became a trusted name for quality guitars and gear across Australia.

From day one, we’ve offered a diverse range of new, used and vintage guitars, along with string instruments like banjos, mandolins, and ukuleles. We also stock amps, tuners, pedals, PA systems, mics, recording bundles, and more—everything a modern musician needs.

Meet the Founder – Rico

The heart behind GIG Guitars is Enrico—known to all as Rico. His musical journey began at 8 years old when he picked up his uncle’s acoustic guitar. After moving to Australia in 1984, he developed a deep love for classical, rock and blues, inspired by artists like INXS, Split Enz, and Cold Chisel.

By 2019, Rico had a personal collection of 50+ guitars and, with a little encouragement from his wife, began selling a few. Demand grew—and GIG Guitars was born.

“The only guitar I regret selling was a 1979 Fender Strat Hardtail. It turned heads every time we played it in-store.” – Rico

Today, Rico still plays, collects, and supports artists who visit Glen Innes, including touring bands like Murphy’s Pigs. His passion remains the same: help people fall in love with music—one instrument at a time.

Shipping – Direct to Consumer Delivery

What We Do

GIG Guitars processes direct-to-consumer orders with the utmost attention. Your item will be shipped to your nominated business or residential address using Australia Post E-ParcelStarTrack Express, or a courier chosen by us on your behalf. Once dispatched, you’ll receive full consignment tracking details via email so you can follow your delivery every step of the way.

What We Don’t Do

While we do everything we can to ensure your order arrives safely, GIG Guitars is not liable for lost or stolen goods once they have been delivered. We recommend reviewing the delivery and proof of delivery policies of Australia Post and StarTrack Express for further clarity:

Insurance is not automatically included in your shipment. If you'd like GIG Guitars to arrange insurance for your delivery, please request this at the time of order—a small additional charge will apply.

If damage occurs during transit, responsibility for logistics and replacement costs lies with the purchaser, unless insurance has been arranged. If you encounter delivery issues, we’re happy to assist with consignment tracking, but direct inquiries to couriers must be handled by the customer.

Returns & Refunds

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a refund or exchange if an item:

  • Has a fault that would have deterred purchase if known
  • Is unsafe
  • Is significantly different from its description
  • Doesn’t perform as promised and can’t be easily fixed

In these cases, you're eligible for a refund, exchange, or compensation for any reduced value. If the problem is minor, we’ll aim to repair the item in a reasonable time. If not, we’ll offer you a replacement or refund.

Conditions of Return

To ensure a smooth return process, please ensure the following conditions are met:

  • The product is faulty, incorrect, or does not meet manufacturer specs
  • The product is returned within 14 days of receipt
  • It is returned with original packaging, accessories, and in as-new condition
  • copy of your receipt must be included
  • You must contact the store prior to sending any return
  • Certain items are non-returnable due to hygiene or copyright reasons: print music, kazoos, tin whistles, recorders

All faulty products are subject to supplier warranty assessment. While we advocate for you in this process, outcomes—repair, replacement, or refund—are at the supplier's discretion.

Free Shipping Exclusions

We’re sorry, but NT, WA, SA, and TAS are not included in our Free Shipping offer. All Consignment Items and Clearance Items are also excluded. No stress—shipping will be automatically calculated at checkout. Just enter your address and we’ll take care of the rest. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

14 Day Return Policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

We want you to be confident in your purchase, so please choose carefully. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items

We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind or ordered incorrectly.
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products .

Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

We understand that sometimes plans change, and you may need to cancel your order. Please review our cancellation policy below:

1. Order Cancellation Timeframe

  • Orders may be canceled within [24 hours] of purchase for a full refund.
  • Cancellation fees may apply, depending on the nature and status of the order at the time of the request. (Refer Item 4)
  • After this window, orders may already be in processing or shipment, and cancellation may not be possible.

2. How to Cancel

  • To cancel an order, please contact our customer service team at sales@gigguitars.com.au or through our website's contact form.
  • Provide your order number and reason for cancellation to help us process your request promptly.

3. Custom or Made-to-Order Items

  • Custom or personalized items are non-cancelable once production has begun. Please double-check your order details before submitting.

4. Cancellation Fees

Cancellation fees may apply depending on the stage of order processing and any costs already incurred by GIG Guitars.

Applicable fees may include, but are not limited to:

  • Payment Gateway Fees
  • Handling Fees
  • Delivery Fees
  • Costs of Items Purchased by GIG Guitars to Facilitate Prompt Delivery

5. Refunds for Canceled Orders
